ATOMIC STRUCTURE OF TOOTH ENAMEL AFTER ACTIVITY OF XYLITOL

Апстракт:
This paper with help of Atomic-force microscopy (AFM) analyzes the nanostructure of tooth enamel after the action of xylitol which is a natural sweetener and is used for protection of tooth enamel from carbonated beverages. With AFM examination of the roughness of enamel surface we have observed 9 parameters grouped into three groups: Control group, Stevia and Xylitol. In each of the groups, we have monitored three parameters: Rk core, Rpk and Rvk. For each of parameters we have performed 32 measuring. The presence of tooth enamel with contact of xylitol in vitro shows less pronounced roughness caused by corrosive properties of Coca-Cola. Xylitol as a sweetener in Cola drinks shows potential to prevent development of demineralization of enamel and helps its restoration.
