Abstract:
Information about intermolecular interaction of newly synthesized compounds may be indicators of the possibility of their further application. Derivatives of N-methyl-thiazolidine show various and wide range of applications with significant emphasis on biological activities. Very suitable method of study of the types and the dominance of the existing interactions is spectrophotometry, usually in the UV range. In order to obtain information about the interactions, results of spectrophotometric measurements can be analyzed, in addition to classical, by the use of multivariate analysis methods also. Statistical methods can help extract large number of experimental data, with very similar values, showing, perhaps, hidden conclusions and so the obtained results are interpreted in a more correct way. In this manuscript, by the application of various methods of multivariate analysis, results of the effect of the surrounding medium and the chemical structure on the solvatochromic behavior of the selected, newly synthesized derivatives of N-methyl thiazolidine, will be given.
