Abstract:
The subjects of this study are nanophotonic filters - filters that were obtained using technique of depositing fullerene film in a vacuum from a gas phase onto a substrate of glass. Biomedical multifunctional filters obtained in this way, in addition to the protection of the eye and eye structures, can also have a stimulating phototherapy effect because they can influence the suprachiasmatic nucleus-generator of circadian rhythms in the human body by modulating light or filtering the relevant components of the light spectrum. Based on this an extensive characterization of fullerene thin films filters was conducted, all the data on altered visual perception were collected by analyzing the digital images obtained by mounting filters in front of the camera lens. The aim of this research is to determine which of the examined nanophotonic filters would be the most suitable for therapeutic use when it comes to light therapy.
