Abstract:
Derivatives of carbohydrazones show extreme and wide biological activity. Some of the most significant are antibacterial, antifungicide, antioxidant and antitumor activites. Biological activity of all compounds depends on the surrounding medium and interactions in between the two. The object of this paper is study of solute-solvent interactions of newly sinthesized derivatives of carbohydrazones by the use of spectrophotometric method. The apsorbtion spectra of 10 derivatives have been recorded in the range from 200 to 400 nm, within 12 solvents. Solvatochromism of the investigated compounds has been examinated by the use of different solvatochromic models. Also, the influence of the structure on the apsorbtion spectra has been determinated, by the use of Hammett’s equation.
