Abstract:
The paper deals with basic types of concentrating solar power (CSP) plants used worldwide (parabolic troughs, solar towers, parabolic dishes, Fresnel reflectors). Furthermore, criteria for the use of CSP plants, basic information on Solar and Wind Energy Resource Assessment (SWERA) software and active CSP plants worldwide are given. The paper goes on to explore geographical location, climatic characteristics and installation possibilities of CSP plants in the Republic of Srpska. The conclusion emphasizes that commercial CSP plants can be installed in all locations of the community of Trebinje and in some other places in the community of Ljubinje and Bileća.
